DEAD – 7th Dragon English translation project

Due to certain legal action, ANYONE who hosts or up-loads any patches or material uploaded by myself in regards to 7th dragon (for the nds) can also face the same legal action.   This is notice that I deny anyone permission to upload or download 7th dragon english translation content that I have authorized.

Even though it was an incomplete “patch” filled with inaccuracies and hadn’t actually been worked on by myself since december of 2009.

I considered the project dead.   Any reading this please consider the translation project as done and the patch as illegal.  If you do not legally own a copy of the game please delete the patch and the rom the patch was applied to.   Even If you do legally own a copy of the game I would still ask you to delete the patch (if you applied it), remake your backup copy and any other content you may have uploaded in regards to this “patch”.

I do not want any further trouble from this as of tommorow (09-02-2012) any content that has been uploaded by myself in regards to this project/patch will have been deleted.

Aside from this.  As warning to others that I DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION TO UPLOAD THAT CONTENT ANYWHERE.

greetings man, u truelly were fooled by the japanese producers of this game, as long as you don’t upload the rom, they have no right to take your translation down, also you are using a 3rd party software(s) to translate the game, and they also do not own the japanese language nor english, so if they remessage you again, sur them for privacy disturbance, you get some $$$ out of their asses if you play your cards right.

No this was pretty official. As in someone in person served me papers. I have also had further contact with the rep making sure they understand that nothing else up, out there, released, etc., other than this blog is related to me in regards to 7th dragon.

that’s pretty bad, i’d love to start to translate the game all over, i’m in a country that pretty much do not give a fuck about other countries laws(smthn like russia), but i need to understand the game text mechanics, i believe my email is shown for you, contact me there for further infos, thank you 🙂

I have been advised not to. That whole country of origin thing still applies. I would be knowingly offering assistance in the committing of a crime I have already endeavored not to partake of. $3200 canadian is already way more than I have wanted to spend on this. (yeah crime… sigh….)
I would like to strongly encourage possibly porting and using *original fan based, (free for use), artwork* for said porting.
If anyone is interested in doing such please feel free to contact me on that type of thing.

That’s too bad! Scary people scaring you like that.
Me and thousands of others, surely, would love to play this game in English. What would they care if there’s a translation? They don’t sell the game outside of Japan anyway (-_-)
Otherwise, that’s a clue for the company to port the game to the rest of the world. Me and thousands more would totally buy 7th Dragon in English Mr. Scary Lawyer. Take note.

I’m pretty sure you can’t control the whole rest of the internet, dude. You can’t just declare everybody else on the internet has “no permission” to do something. It’s not YOUR prerogative, is what I’m saying. You don’t have permission to tell other human strangers what their permissions are.

(if you are talking 7th dragon) Okay here is the thing legally I had to comply by sending something – anything with a carbon copy to the legal team. If you are of any of the sites that had a patch or the rom with the patch you should have received some form of remove or face us thing… TO cover myself as directed by my lawyer I complied with whatever they asked. As I could barely pay the f–king lawyer much less deal with the penalties of not complying. So in regards to copyright of what I did – you cannot use it. Just so you know I did leave a few done by x in the game just to keep track. I have been assured that they (that specific legal team) is not pursuing their lawsuit against me anymore. AS I COMPLIED. I suggest you listen to this advice as of x date canada (where I am from) their copyright laws of canada now partake of other countries copyright laws. So anything to do with 7th dragon and I is now under country of origin laws. Do you know where 7th dragon is copyrighted from? I do my lawyer rushed me through complying for a reason. Do you know japans copyright laws? So yes in this case I and that legal team can say X. So pay attention the internet is a massive legal copyright mess. You cannot just do what you want on it and think there is no one watching. Cause there is. (your internet provider – their legal team, their security team, your email provider wordpress legal team- there is plenty more… all with some interest in covering their butts legally – if that means prosecuting you to cover themselves from lawsuit… )
Now smarten up and think before you do. I should have…
your post can be tracked from there other things can be tracked. The site you post the patch on may be in a country that is sympathetic to japan… I could go on. Point I was trying to make just by posting here I had to have a conversation with the lawyer about if I could post this. What if anything I might need to change in said post… then I get to wait while the legal team there gets a copy of intent to post, the post, it goes on from there. Leaving me with a giant f-cking headache all due to somebody thinking the internet is actually more free than real life. when reality is its actually way easier to track what is being done and quicker to press charges/a lawsuit cause what has been done here is actually documented in a much more detailed way-as it is designed that way. (you did read the wordpr-ss legal stuff before you posted a comment right? if you didn’t just wow…)
